LASER ALIGMENT SET

Tecnical data:

  1. The analog plates are mounted instead of the front wheels.
  2. There is no need for removing the front brake system or wheel flanges.
  3. The laser measuring unit is built into the measuring plates to ensure accurate measurement.
  4. Due to the increased weight on the lower part of the plates and the effect of the gravity of the measuring plate, they are always leveled, regardless of the steering wheel position so no correction is required.
  5. Integrated ball bearings allows measurements under full load. (it is necessary to provide a flat base).
  6. Possible comparison of measurements of unladen and loaded chassis. The result of this comparison shows you how soft or hard your chassis really is.
  7. Bearings allow the release of the front part of the shaft in all directions (forward-backward, inside-outside)
  8. It is also possible to control the settings, with the meter.
  9. Dual AAA battery provides sufficient long lasting energy for our laser device.

Here at STONE Kart Company we always try to improve and upgrade the tools and work systems in the karting world.  From the beggining of karting sport, the setup of the chassis is done on the trolley or a stand, with unloaded conditions. This setting is only partially accurate,  regardless what kind of measuring device was used; measuring discs or laser devices. Measurements done with an  unloaded chassis does not take into consideration the tolerances within the bearings.
Gravity acting on the unladen chassis measurement, gives the wrong starting point for the all future measurements. The correct measurement is on a flat surface with the driver sitting in the fully loaded kart.

We have to know that the karting chassis has a role of mono suspension, which means that forces acting on certain points are mostly transmitted in the diagonal to the other side of the chassis.

We can not expect that working the setup on one side of the chassis, will not have any impact on the other side.

In order to change the false measurements, we have developed a new measuring tool, which enables you to measure in full load.

So far, we know two methods of measurements:
1. Analog measurements with measuring plates instead of wheels.
2. Laser measurement with a laser magnetic device installed on the stup-axle.

They both have good and bad sides. Measurements done with the analog plates are relivative, and the difference is +-5%.  Measurements done with a magnetic laser device is more accurate. The problem occurs when trying to place a magnetic laser device on the stub-axle. It is necessary to demontage the front part of the chassis, so we can access the appropriate part where the laser device can be placed.

We finally found a great solution for all this issues, by combining the two previous items together.

In addition to the very wide range of laser measuring devices, we think that our combined measuring tool has some advantages over the existing products on the market.
